NH Hoteles parts with Crowne Plaza

Spanish hotelier NH Hoteles SA announced Wednesday it has sold its Crowne Plaza Hotel in Brussels to Sweden's Pandox AB for 31.8 million ( $36.5 million). The sale follows the company's August sale of the Hotel Princesa Sofia in Barcelona for 135 million.

The company still operates 260 hotels with about 34,000 rooms in 16 countries, following a series of acquisitions in recent years. The August sale was NH's biggest financial transaction since it bought Netherlands hotel chain Krasnapolsky Hotels & Restaurants NV for 757 million in April 2000. NH will book a 1.6 million gain on the Crowne Plaza sale.
