Along with its joint venture partner in SA, Tokyo Sexwale's Mvelaphanda, the group hopes to establish a presence in Johannesburg, Sandton, Durban and Port Elizabeth, according to district GM, Marko Hytonen. Rezidor manages the Radisson SAS, Regent Hotels, Country Inn and Park Inn brands throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Cape Town has been the springboard for Rezidor's entry into SA, and it now has two hotels in the city, the newly opened and refurbished Park Inn, previously the Holiday Inn, and the Radisson Hotel Waterfront, owned by a consortium of South African, German and Singaporean investors.
