Hotel chain Jurys Doyle has put its 137-bedroom Jurys Glasgow hotel up for sale for about £10.9m.The chain had hoped to sell the hotel, known locally as The Pond, privately, but failed to get a satisfactory bid and has now put it on the open market.
Jeremy Jones, of agent Christie & Co, said the hotel went on the market this week and a number of offers had already been received.
The move comes as little surprise, as Jurys has long made it clear it wants to get out of the three-star market to concentrate on its higher-margin Jurys Inn budget chain and its four- and five-star hotels.
The Glasgow hotel’s staff were told of the decision last week.
