PATA Awarded for Dutchman Peter de Jong
PATA President and CEO, Mr. Peter de Jong, received an award on behalf of the Association for its response to the SARS crisis. At the TTG Honours ceremony on November 4 in Bangkok, Mr. de Jong accepted the award saying PATA was ‘only doing its job’.
Mr. de Jong said it was ironic that it took a crisis to create a heightened level of cross-sector cooperation through Project Phoenix. He added: ‘We should not be too self-congratulatory as there are many crises ahead. We’ve learned that we all need to be quicker on our feet and work together to create the future our industry deserves.’
