Kuwait hotels get war dividend

The hotel market in Kuwait benefited strongly from the war in Iraq as military, press, aid workers and business clients flocked to the region.

Occupancy soared to 84% during 2003, against the usual 40-50%. Room rate was about $185 and revenue per available room $156 - a 65% increase on 2002 levels.
