Israel: Occupancies higher than expected

Despite predictions that hotel and tourist bungalow occupancy rates would fall during the Sukkot holiday, compared with last year, most hotel chains in Israel have reported high occupancy rates. At 70-75%, occupancy in the north is higher than expected, in view of the tension on the northern border, although lower than last year. The Fattal Hotel Management chain reported 100% occupancy in its two hotels on the Dead Sea, and 90% occupancy in its Eilat hotel.

Occupancy in Haifa was 75%. Occupancy in Eilat for the last day of the festival is 100%. The Sheraton Moriah hotel chain reports 100% occupancy for the entire weeklong holiday in its hotels in Eilat, Jerusalem, and the Dead Sea, and 90% occupancy in Tiberias. Occupancy in Tel Aviv was less.
