Oldest 5-star in Melbourne spins a yarn

The Windsor in Melbourne is looking for past clients or employees to contribute funny stories about the hotel or interesting memorabilia to celebrate its 120th anniversary this year.

Established in 1883, property claims to be the oldest five-star hotel in Australia. To commemorate its 120th birthday The Windsor has organised a number of events including a new exhibition of hotel memorabilia.

Anyone who lends memorabilia - "whether it be a plate, a photograph taken in the hotel’s lobby, or perhaps an official program from a function held in the Grand Ballroom" - will go into the draw to win tickets to the hotel's invitation-only birthday party.

The hotel said all items displayed in the exhibition would be acknowledged to the owner upon request. Further details are available from marketing co-ordinator, Brooke Ruscuklic: brooke.ruscuklic@thewindsor.com.au.
