Hotels.com launches country-specific web sites

Hotels.com, the largest specialized provider of discount lodging worldwide, has introduced 14 unique international versions of its hotels.com web site featuring state-of-the-art IP recognition technology. The IP recognition technology identifies the users' country of origin and displays the appropriate country-specific hotels.com site. Each site uses local formats, language, and currency and contains promotions unique to that specific country.

'This makes us a truly global business. Millions of travelers now have access to local versions of hotels.com making purchasing lodging online convenient and easy. The technology is available to all of our more than 36,000 affiliates as well. We have implemented similar technology in our European call centers allowing our agents to recognize the caller's country of origin in order to communicate in the appropriate language. We will introduce new country-specific versions of hotels.com in other countries worldwide', stated Bob Diener, president of Hotels.com.
