Myhotel enters café society

Boutique hotels group Myhotel is expanding into the restaurant business. The chain has opened its first Mycafé restaurant at the Aveda building in London's High Holborn and is looking at further outlets. The building also contains a beauty products shop, hair and beauty salons.

Sales and marketing director Patrick Wennerand said that although Myhotel had no concrete plans to open more cafés, it was something the company was interested in doing. He claimed: 'We need to get a grip on what we are doing at the Aveda building and, if we do it well, then the sky’s the limit.'

Wennerand added that the group was also interested in opening Mybars, which it already operates in its hotels, and Mynightclubs. But hotels were still the main focus of the group, he said.

'We are working very hard to develop and open more hotels. Our ambition is to go outside the UK', Wennerand said.
